Our focus

We want to follow Jesus. We want to be close to him, to know him and be like him. Practically that means we pray to him and study the Bible so that we can live it out in our daily lives. But following Jesus also means sharing him with others. When we follow Jesus he always leads us to those around us to love them the way he does. We want to share the love, joy and hope of Jesus Christ with everyone; and show them how they can follow him as well.

So where do we start?

How do we go about doing this as a church family? How do we take these broad concepts and turn them into action? It starts with the right perspective; with knowing what being a Christian actually is, and what it isn't.

No religion, just jesus

Following Jesus is not a religious program or a self-help seminar; it is relationship with a real person. The truth is, religion doesn't amount to much. Long robes, rules, incense, cold ritual; I don't think God really cares about any of that. But he is there, and he knows you. Religion is about people trying to find God. Christianity is about him finding you. Being a Christian does not begin with you trying to be a good person or even trying to love God. It begins with the realisation that he loves you. He is a real person and his name is Jesus Christ; and he came to this earth to literally save your life. We have plenty of religion in the world and that doesn't seem to be working out too well. What you need is not another program. You need a real person.

So what do we actually do?

We have simplified the focus our church to five essentials. We believe it is better to do a few things well. There are so many good things that could be done, but sometimes we can more by doing less.

the high - 5

PRAY • SHARE • DISCIPLE • PREACH • MULTIPLY

We focus all of our energy as a church into these five areas. PRAY: We talk openly and honestly with God to cultivate a close relationship with him. SHARE: we serve Jesus by talking to others about him and loving them the way he loves us. DISCIPLE: we coach individuals one-on-one to help them grow and learn how to follow Jesus. PREACH: every week we come together to challenge and energise our faith with the truth of God's Word. MULTIPLY: want to see more non-religious, Jesus-following churches started across our great city and around the world.

How do we grow?

The only way we grow is if we grow together. We were never meant to live this life alone. So we have a very natural process that exists to help us build a strong life in Christ; But everyone is different, so our process gives both structure and space, allowing us to grow at our own pace.

our discipleship process

BELONG • LEARN • SERVE • LEAD

Belong: we want to take time to connect with each other and feel like we are part of a family,  Learn: we learn the Bible as a group and we also coach individuals one-on-one to help them grow in their faith.  Serve: we take what we learn and start putting into action by serving others.  Lead: with time we want to become an example that others can follow.
